Hi guys!

My friend has a Squier Telecaster signature model that I'm borrowing for a while.
It's a fine guitar and I like it a lot!
But, when I tried it today, I turned the volume pots all the way down. So, normally, there shouldn't be anymore noise coming out of my amp.
But, even with the volume on the guitar turned all the way down, I still have some noise, although a lot less.
This happens with both of the pickups.

What's the problem here? And how can it be fixed?

I found this video on Facebook today. I think it's awesome! biggrin.gif
Do you have any similar tricks/videos? I know Tom Morello does this kind of stuff as well. biggrin.gif

Hi guys!

Recently I was listening to some Belgian bands. I like some of them a lot and I wanted to share them with GMC.
But I also want learn to know some new music, so let's hear what your favorite bands from your own country are!

This is my top 5:

1. Wallace Vanborn: I'm a huge fan of stoner rock and heavier rock genres, and this band is perfect! Their live shows are amazing and full of energy.

2. Steak Number Eight: some more heavy rock/sludge metal. And these guys were only 15 when they got famous in Belgium!

3. Channel Zero: a heavy metal band that exists for quite a while now. As with Wallace Vanborn, the energy at their shows is amazing. Sadly, their drummer past away not so long ago.

4. Triggerfinger: bluesrock masters! Their riffs are incredible!

5. Flatcat: I like punk a lot, so this genre could not be omitted from this list. This band is from my hometown. I didn't like them a lot, up until now. Their earlier records where too poppy for me, but now their songs are more rough.

Plus there are a lot more! Like Blackbox Revelation (blues rock), Millionaire (like QOTSA, and even Josh Homme likes them), Red Zebra, ...

Do any of you guys now one of these bands?
What are your favorite bands from your country (or, maybe, for people in the USA: from your state)?

Hi guys,

The last couple of years I haven't been able to practice a lot of guitar, because I was awfully busy trying to graduate.
Now that I only have a masterthesis to write, I have more free time, and thus more time to practice guitar.
And I want to take it seriously now! But I have really no idea where to start...

I've been browsing through the lessons on here, but there are soooooo many, I can't really see the forest through the trees anymore. blink.gif
What are some of the lessons the GMC community would recommend?

My goal is to play music ranging from AC/DC-esque soloing, to Metallica-like riffing, to hardcore/punk style arrangements.

I hope my post is clear. I'm more than willing to clarify my goals, if necessary.

Thanks a lot for reading! smile.gif
