Recently I have noticed that the special finish/paint stuff on the back of my parker guitars neck is becoming thin and worn where it meets the fretboard. It has become so thin that it is chipping/pealing off in one place and although the chip isn’t very big at the moment it could keep chipping back and become a real problem. The parker website says that this type of thing can be painted over with PPG paints but I don’t think you can get them in Britain. Could any other parker owners give me any tips on how to solve this problem? Have you encountered anything like this yourself? I have only had the guitar for one year and I have treated it well so this wear is really worrying me.

If it helps from Parker's web site:

'Parker proudly uses PPG paints. To locate your nearest PPG retailer please call PPG at: (440)-572-6111. The local dealer will find Parker Guitars listed in their computer system’s "Fleet colors" list. Our colors are stored by name: Emerald Green, Ruby Red, etc.'

As its an automotive paint you may be able to get some in the UK from a car bodyshop specialist dealer like this one here. Don't know if they stock the right colour and type though so it may be a good idea to check with Parker first...

I can't help you, but you might want to post something on the Parker Guitar forum. There are quite a few helpful and knowledgeable people there.
