GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ Share A Great Guitarist From Your City...

Posted by: Gabriel Leopardi Jun 3 2017, 05:01 PM

Hey friends! This post is to invite you to share a GREAT guitarist from your city that you think he should have more recognition globally, and tell the reason why you think you think he should be recognised, and why you think this is not happening.

I would like to share our great guitarist called "Luis Salinas"

I won't say that he didn't reached international recognition since he was invited by BB King to play a song with him, and he also played with George Benson who said great things about him. However, I'm sure that none of you know about him and that he should have more international recognition.

"Luis Salinas is an Argentine jazz guitarist who plays electric and nylon string guitars. His music includes elements of bossa nova, samba, Afro-Uruguayan candombe, salsa, boleros, and jazz.[1] He blends traditional South American musical forms with improvisational modern jazz.[2]

From 1985–1991, he worked with Egle Martin, an Argentinean singer, dancer, and producer and played on her bossa-nova album El Arte Del Encuentro. In 1993, Swedish pianist Anders Persson invited Salinas to play at the Umeå Jazz Festival, followed by a tour of Sweden. He signed with GRP Records in 1995 and recorded his debut album, Salinas, for that label in March 1996 with musicians from George Benson's group. He played at the 30th edition of the Montreux Jazz Festival.[1]

On August 22, 1997 he played to 30,000 concert-goers at the Palabra de Guitarra Latina show in Palma, Majorca, Spain. One week later, at the Guitarras del Mundo festival in Buenos Aires (August 26–31), he was one of main attractions, playing three concerts at Buenos Aires' La Trastienda Club.[3]

His second album, Solo Guitarra, included a version of "You Are the Sunshine of My Life" by Stevie Wonder[4]"

Now it's your turn! Share a great guitarist from your city...

My friend Yann Bonneau, a great guitarist, this video do not show how good he is, but it a small demonstration of his skill.

he is a professional jazz player, but he share a lot of time with a local celebritie as Lucie azard.
