Guilt

100 years have passed, And still I feel guilt
My deeds in the war, Are long since gone
But the blood on my hands, Returns everyday
Just the like the rising glow, Of a new day's dawn
So I tread this earth, Day by day
Cursed with a soul, That can never truly die
And every night I honestly repent
The winds blowing eastward, My "life" passing me by
Remembering all the families I so surely destroyed
Remembering all the people, I was ordered to kill
Thinking off all the mothers, Who no longer have sons
Even when I took the youngest, My heart was still
So whenever I see a face, With a scar from the war
I stop them and confess, To tell this story
Of a damned, Yet undying man
To hopefulyl purge this sin, That consumers the most of me
Now 200 years haved passed, And still I fell guilt
These mountains that grow more mighty
Seems to shadow the shameful road I walk
Reminding me of the sin that resides in me
I wince in disgust, Time and time again
To think of the atrocities I've done
But when the face of a child says he forgives me

So today in English IV, We had to write a poem about Confession. So I basically wrote a story that is about a man, Who due to his deeds in a war 100 years ago, Travels the earth forver, never to die. And whenever he comes across someone who has been affected badly by war, He tells them his story, And how he travels endlessly to repent for his sin.

What I liked about this one in particular was the rhyme scheme you used. Something like A,B,C,A
