Wellcome in the REC zone my friend! Very nice to see You here As You said - I hope it's the first of many takes You'll share with us

I'll leave something for the guys to "complain"(Cosmin and Gabriel) so I'll just talk about (funny thing...yesterday's chat topic) rhythm and movements assignment. You right hand movements are very irregular. The lesson has a cool grove itself and You are not doing any unforgiven mistakes but with sort of funky grooves we need our right hand to catch the pulse and work like in the smooth and relaxed mode

Hi mate! Congrats on your first take! I hope that, as Darius, said, this is the first of many takes!

You will start to feel more comfortable and relaxed with the experience of more recording. The main issue on this take is rhythm. Your timing is very irregular in the whole take and you are not going with the groove of the song. This is something very important that must be fixed of course. The first step would be to start isolating the different parts and working on them as a loop. Use the slower backings and also play the lesson over the main video's audio to be sure that you are going tight with the instructor's playing.

Once you feel and follow the groove correctly, this take will be perfect.

Hello Tom

I think that Darius and Gabe observed the most important aspect in this recording - timing/ groove and definition. You need to be able to record a take over the original recording and make them fit together like a glove - that will be the point in which your take will have a great feel, groove and the timing will be flawless as well.

Work on each piece slowed down and also, try working with the metronome, before working with the backing track - it will help you become a master of timing and not depend on sonic landmarks that you would hear on the backing track.
