The B.C. Rich Mockingbird Special X. Don't like how it plays much but it sure is beautiful.

I second you there! I just love sharp edged guitars like Ibanez! Any of it - RG-JEM and even S is awesome.

Haha, I wont flame you. I've never liked Ibanez guitar designs
(excluding the one Gilbert use in the Down to Mexico music video)

Smikey, that guitar has beautiful bridge (only a guitar player would ever comment that a guitar has a beautiful bridge). My favorite for looks is the nitefly (just look on the main page ) or a beat up strat.

just shows how people are different. those ibanez sort of reminded me of lolly pops. or those neon colored popsicles, you know the ones with the tropical fruit flavors, the ones most people don't like.
les paul looked great though.
we will see in the year 2020. still will be les pauls in demand. the ibanez an interesting relic for this period, sort of like lava lamps in the 60's.
edit: I bet she would love those guitars

Negative Ghost Rider. The RG just released it's 20th anniversary re-issue as well as the JEM sporting it's 20th anniversary model as well, making it the second oldest signature model besides the Les Paul itself.
In another 20 years I doubt anything is going to change. There will still be Les Paul enthusiasts the same as there are SuperStrat enthusiasts. We both know it's not changing.
On the otherside of the coin, LP's could be looked at as (to coin the term used by Dethklok) "Grandpas Guitars". I mean look at what "popular" music is, it's definitely feasible.
But beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I have a coworker who is obsessed with Univox/Mosrite guitars (reverse strat w/ 3x3 headstock) which I think is abominable. He pays high dollar for a good vintage one. His bandmember plays a lot of Silvertone guitars, has over 15, another guitar I would not really consider to be a looker (or a player) but he loves them.

For those who think the Les Paul is ugly - WOW! - before purchasing my gal, I held every other brand in my hands, but when I felt... The Queen, nothing else was even close, really! I guess it's a matter of taste, like most things in music...
I have four wonderful kids... This is my fifth (non-human) baby!

Tony, I didn't know you had a wine red LP?
They are so pretty, it is the greatest colour, I had to have it. Oh and no pickguard, I don't like the look of pickguard on LP's.
Posted by: tonymiro Nov 13 2007, 07:36 PM
They sure are Hemlok and I agree about the pickguard - perhaps on a Black Beauty but not on this one .
Bought mine on a chance visit to a music shop a few years back - saw it and fell in love .
Cheers,

I love JEMS, PGM's, RG's, Strats, Musicman, anything else I havent mentioned.
But guys , need I say more?
The smell, the look, the texture, the feel... ahhh heaven
Oh yeah, and Hemloks is my favorite guitar in this thread!

The Fender Showmaster FMT HH is a not well known, but really nice looking guitar.
Not only that, but 24 frets, a thin set-neck, Seymour Duncan pick-ups, and tremolo make it sound and play as good as it looks.
I've included some pics of mine.

That is a really nice looking Fender. I'd like to try one of those out one day. Is that American made?

No, It is Korean, but the quality is really nice.
Brand New they go for around $700, I got lucky and found a new one on Ebay for $400 shipped

Thats awesome. I'd love to get one I always wanted to put humbuckers in my Strat but that would be awesome to get one of those. Do they have American made ones?

I think they make Fender Custom shop ones, but they are $2000+
The Korean model is really nice, it has 5 way pick-up selector so you can actually get that Single Coil strat sound along with the Humbucker sounds.
This guitar is versatile enough for Metal, classic rock, and even twang Strat style sounds.
Here is a smaller pic:
I just cut my guitar collection way down.
I recently sold my Ibanez Prestige RGA121, my Gibson Flying V, and my ESP LTD Viper 400 is on ebay right now.
The only guitars I am keeping that made the cut are the Fender and my Les Paul.
The Vendetta XM works nice for traveling as if it gets stolen I don't care.

I love those old Mosrite guitars. There's a pawn shop near me that has a 60's Silvertone with a Jaguar style body. Looks like it's been gnawed on by a dog, but it's beautiful. Some day I'm going to ask them to pull it down and let me take a test drive. It probably sounds like crap...but I love guitars that sound like crap.

I'm not surprised that they would be that much, as for it is Fender. Maybe after I get a PRS and a LP i'll order one.

In the late 80's to the early 90's Fender made what they called the HM Strat. Similar configuration and made in the USA. They can be a little hard to find, but I don't think you'd have to pay more than US$1000 for one.

Ill clean it up and get a better pic...I used my camera phone.....scroll to the left and check out my others... I just got a new s2170se-ntf what a killer guitar...i cant put it down. the others are a 199X 1527 prestige (dimarzios), a warmoth (fake strat) killer stuff (warmoth that is) and a 1981 gibson kalamazoo explorer e2 with walnut/maple construction. The explorer is the model with the "tummy cut". The explorer is the heaviest sounding guitar ever. (I have the stock dirty fingers bridge pick-up but replaced it with a really old duncan distortion I had laying around). A happy marrage I must say.
Have you ever seen a Bantam before? Its a very odd limited run. Came out the same time as the flourentine Im told. I read somewhere it was a 400 or less run. I have never seen another one.
