Hello guys!
I was wondering, some of you do sports probably. Which sports and when etc...
Can you easily combine it with music and guitar?
I often find it difficult to combine. I practice rugby in a club.
Two times training a week (evening) and one match in the weekend.

I never read much about sport on gmc, so here's your chance to inform us about all your sport activities!! (watching included)

Kind regards,
Fre

Used to be a cat 1 class road racing cyclist and had national trials. Way back I could do sub 1 and sub 2 (25 miles in under 1 hour, 50 miles under 2) sort of stuff. Nowadays I'd probably be more like 12 miles in an hour. I also played rugby up to when I went to uni, mainly League rather than Union. I just relied on being fast biggrin.gif. Packed in both due to too many injuries and not enough time.

A little OT but my sister in law swam for the UK in two Olympics and her middle son is doing 2012 Olympic team trials for canoeing at the moment. The time commitment for both of them is/was huge. She did swimming before and after school and for hours on Saturdays and Sundays every week. His decision on which University to go to is largely influenced on facilities for canoeing.

I try to get a lot of excercise, but it's mostly in a gym, so I'm not a pro athlete in any way.

Squash, soccer, snowboarding is some of what I do, but it requires other people or a trip to some mountains.

I'll run my first Marathon in May a week before my 31st birthday.

I used to go to fencing (5 years) and boxing (1 year), but now my only sport is the guitar smile.gif The reason I quit is that trainers wanted me to devote all the time to the sport, I didn't want to. Now I just go to the swimming pool twice a week.

Another floorball player here. I play in two teams, practice about two times a week and in weekends I can have 0 to 4 matches. Takes quite a bit of time, but I enjoy it alot.
Last year I broke my kneecap during a match though :s , but that gave me alot of time to play guitar.

Also enjoy long distance running occasionally, but that's been a while now.

Cool to see more floorball players. I also play with two teams in the same club(We got a team for the ones who dont have a spot in the first squad).

I have been injured for two weeks but now i am good and can start practise again.

In the Netherlands they always promote the sport as being low on injuries, but from what I see around me I can say it's far from the truth.

I must say I would love to train in Sweden. There is so much skill over there, it would be awesome to learn from that.

Yes that happened quite a bit to me. I'd mistime a catch or tackle, get a finger bent back and pop! I broke my collarbone and got a fractured jaw in one really bad tackle, which was when I decided to quit wink.gif .

I dont see to many injuries but it happens in every sport.

I dont know the quality of the game in netherlands but here it is pretty good. The team i am playing in is in Division 1(Third highest division in the country) so its pretty fast and good standard on the teams. For example the team we are playing this weekend has a guy that have played in the national team plus a few more guys who have play in SSl(Highest league)

Never heard of the name 'floorball' but I do recognise the sport. It's a bit like icehockey without ice, am I right?

I was there and saw it live in 2008, one of the coolest things I ever saw... gave me goosebumbs all over at the end. Too bad I couldn't make it to Finland this year.
