GMC Forum _ Gabriel Leopardi _ Hand Muted Strum

Posted by: carminemarotta Sep 24 2013, 02:57 PM

Hi Gab
I am looking at your Picnic Panic lessons. One of the rhythm involves a downstrum while muting the strings at the bridge. Can you give me some tips on how to do it? I halways struggle to play it correctly, in particular the higher strings do not sound nicley "muted".
Thanks in advance
Carmine

Hi mate! Could you please tell the the rhythm or part number to be sure that we are talking about the same rhythm?

In that rhythm I first mute the string with the palm of my right hand and then a do the downstroke. It's just a matter of milliseconds but that's what is happening. You have to find the way that it becomes a unique natural movement just from your elbow (muting) and then from your wrist (downstroke). Let me know if it's clear. Feel free to share a video or to assist to my Vchat session today and I will show you how to do it.
