I don't really get all the hype some of the girls in the metal scene get. Sure, there are some really talanted girls out there, but sometimes it seems like they get so much more hype just because they're girls.

I don't want to be whining too much, but I just felt like I had to share some of my thoughts

I do understand but beauty and talent is in the eye of the beholder. Someone that you might think doesn't deserve the attention that they are getting, might be the favorite musician or singer of someone else. And yes some women in metal get more attention because they are women. This is a male dominated medium. There aren't that many known women musicians. I don't think there is anything positive in saying they only get attention because they are women.

Only my opinion. Not trying to preach or anything

Well, I'm just saying that I would be more careful with praising people, but I'm sure a lot of the girls here are truly talented and deserve all this. The only thing I'm saying is that you should be careful with your praise, because if you use it too much, it won't be worth anything in the long run. But yes, I do realise that stuff like this is subjective, but I just wanted to share my views, for the same reason you guys are.

^^^ Yea, I think the same way. That's why I think its a fad, at the moment anyway, that girls in Metal is nothing more than a gimmick. Of course, I like a few bands with female as vocalist or even a female driven death metal, but as far as the majority of it goes, its a trend.
