Vanity is manifested in a million ways - some are positive and socially desirable, but most of are not. It is generally a filter that distorts reality and creates the illusion which helping a man to preserve the sense of higher values.
Life is much nicer if the man doesn't burden ourselves with what others will think about him and whether at all to think about him.
I am not an exception too - for example I hate rules and authority !
How about you ??
Very true! I like working out and taking care of my image just because it makes me feel good and it gives me a lot of self confidence, but that doesn't have to transform me into a diva
Unfortunately, image consists of 50% if not more out of the whole package an artist/ band should deliver nowadays...
Vanity isn't healthy when taken to extremes.
We should all take pride and care of our appearance and health of course. After all, respect starts with self respect.
I don't have a problem with other people being vain, I find it quite amuusing.. especially if they're honest about it. What I do have a problem with is when people have an obvious mental illness where they feel they need to butcher their natural features because of same strange idea that manifested itself in their head. A case like this was in the news yesterday, maybe you saw it too ?

In this case I feel very sorry for her.. I wouldn't ridicule her. There's obviously something not right in her psychology to make her feel that way.
I'm not an exception too, and can be very unrealistic sometimes, depending on the situation, but through the years I'm changing, trying to look things more clearly. Sometimes it takes more time, sometimes less, but it's life, what can you do
I am on a diet because I want to look sexy...does it count ??
