Realistic goals can be helpful and this is a perfect excuse to set it smile.gif

Mine's to improve at music theory, singing, learn to improvise and start creating some original tracks... and i vaguely see the words neoclassical shredding towards the end of 2010... laugh.gif

Whats yours? ?? Doesn't have to be music related smile.gif

I am going to make several new year resolutions (I am full of good intentions!!) rolleyes.gif

These are;
  1. To loose weight and get fitter, target is to lose15 kg by June
  2. To reduce my red wine consumption, tough one this as I like my Rioja!!
  3. To learn more Spanish
  4. To improve my playing - I need to consider my targets carefully, going to work these out today with a proper practice agenda.
  5. To improve my music theory knowledge

Please try to encourage and nag me from time to time!! tongue.gif

Improve my playing further, especially the solo parts, create and record some own music, lose weight, run 20 kilometers and so on...

2010:

-Get in shape after Christmas (like every year, I manage to do it until Easter)
-Improve my songwriting skills (they suck!)
-Improve my lead playing (I can shred the hell out of my guitar but I am dreadfully bad at phrasing, linking licks and composing solos)
-Learn Theory (since 2007 on my List, I really gotta start!!)

-Find a better drummer and get my Band rolling out for the first gigs!

Will have to formulate these carefully tomorrow, as I do realize these, and don't want to turn my life into hell:P
There are two that I know for sure, one is to record at least 4 lvl 7 lessons for REC (may be quite hard, we shall see).
Another one is to work on my strength, as I already lose some weight in the last months by diet and exercises, so now the little goal I have is to be able to do 40 proper push-ups in one row, by the end of next year. I bet that it will come quite fast, or not at all:P

Yeah getting more specific is always my problem biggrin.gif My New Year Resolutions are almost always wishes, like become a better pianist (or this year become a better guitarist biggrin.gif), so I thought a bit about it and finally I decided to set my goals month for month. Or better said: I'll give it a try laugh.gif As I started a daybook in 2009 and keep on writing in 2010, I'll have the possibility to re-read what I did the whole month and analyse this. Don't know where this is taking me, if I'll give me too much unnecessaire pressure, but I'll give this a try for a few months smile.gif
