Heh, I love how a group of Crows is called a Murder, I wonder if it is the same for Ravens?

A group of Ravens is actually called an "Unkindness". The name, "Brandon"(my name) actually means 'Little Raven'(amongst other things). At one point, I learned as much as I could about Ravens. So, yeah. Still a pretty dark name.

At least they aren't called a Congress tongue.gif

Hahaaa! Good one! biggrin.gif Thanks for the info Brandon. smile.gif We have alot of Ravens up I'm sure you know and I never knew what to call a group of them. Pretty dark but it sounds kinda strange to say an Unkindness of Ravens to me, a Murder of Crows rolls off the tongue much better.

Another creature fact: In order to maintain air-speed velocity, a swallow needs to beat its wings forty-three times every second

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Not sure though if they are talking about African or European swallows

Oh, I also thought 'murder' applied to ravens as well.. as per the Cradle of Filth song 'A Murder of Ravens in Fugue'.. but I shouldn't really rely on a C.O.F. song for world facts ! biggrin.gif

Let's celebrate the coolness of the crow with a nice little sing-a-long ! smile.gif

A murder of crows. I love that. Crows are very smart in fact they can actually train people! Here at work there is this crow that will come and sit on the cars outside the door, and start crowing and my boss goes out and feeds it. laugh.gif

Was it "The Birds" by Alfred Hitchcock? It certainly wasn't the comic book movie where Brandon Lee died in real life, right?

Yeah it was "The Birds". That Hitchcock guy knew the terrible truth. biggrin.gif

Cows can't use jetpacks and now crows can't either? God this is a harsh world we live in! wink.gif

Seriously though, where I live happens to be an area where large groups of crows (not sure how many exactly, haven't spend any time Counting Crows) gather every year and wait out the winter. They always amaze my family and me with how intelligent they are. They learned to either steal food or beg for it very quickly, and also seem to demonstrate pretty good problem solving skills. Also, you have to watch yourself when you go outside, you might get nailed. ohmy.gif
