Hey all, I saw in the topic "Drums for Cubase" or something like that Trond giving out a link to get some compressor plugins ( http://www.kvraudio.com/ )
Can you sugest me which one I could get? free or not free, just want some suggestions  Cheers Filipe -------------------- Currently Practicing

I use PSP Vintage Warmer most of the time, and Waves Renaissance for mastering sometimes as well, but there are a lots of useful compressors around.

Waves plug ins are always great!
The new package Diamond Bundle 5.2 is just great  They have more packages and things to work with, check the site http://www.waves.com/ -------------------- |

Hey Rated Htr, I'll recommend some free ones that i've obtained from kvr. No, I've never used them for guitar because I've never really recorded guitar much, but I've used them for other general recording purposes like synths/keyboards and vocals.
BlockFish: It seems very simple at a glance, but it has a nice number of options, and the sound is pretty decent in my opinion http://www.digitalfishphones.com/main.php?...2&subItem=5 KJAERHUS CLASSIC Compressor: Another good, free option that I use from time to time http://www.kjaerhusaudio.com/classic-series.php Those are 2 that I like and use, as far as free compressors are concerned. They are free, so there's no harm in trying them out. Of course, kvr does have a enormous amount of free compressors that you can try. Most sequencers also come with a couple of compressors as well. In addition if you want some excellent quality compressor plugs with a hardware front end then take a look at Focusrite's Liquid Mix DSPs here. Puts much less strain on your pc then a standard software plug-in and the emulated compressors are good.

Focusrite is awesome but it is pricey as hell - 1000$ for EQ and comp!
 I wouldn't mind having this baby at home tho, but I would be happy with UAD project or extra packs as well.

The big all singing all dancing one is 1000Euros but if you can live with fewer comps etc ...

If you are using Cubase, you can use it's stock compressor, it's under Dynamics>Multiband Compressor. There's a preset for drums, kick, snare and whole set if I'm not mistaken. I've used it before, gives good results. You can always adjust the preset to your needs of course.
