great, I hope they sound closer to what they used to be in their hey days.
cool, nice review man!
no offense to women but when I first saw the album cover, it was really small and i thought it was a female body part haha i think u no wut i mean. again no offense
I think it's a good album but there is 1, maybe 2 thrash songs... and those are pretty tame
Nice review I've listened through it today and i thought it was really good.
The solos sound a bit uninspired and repetative though. Sounds like he's just focusing on speed.
But other than that i'm quite impressed
Sigma, you perv Just joking Yea, i agree like, what where they thinking?
Nice review dude, Metallica is back!
The first song I heard of the album was "That Was Just Your Life" ( probably because its the first song on the album ), I think the title suited the song perfectly. What a waste of these 7minutes
Some songs have some nice parts though but other then that I think it's a rather average and boring album, imo:P
Nice review,I just watch a bunch of clips from there youtube channel, and I cant wait to buy it.
I agree with Trond on solos.I am kind hearing a bit to much phrases from the old albums.
I agree 100%! I got the CD yesterday and I LOVE it!!!! \m/
i agree this album is realy good i cant stop listening to it
It's better than St Anger but still doesn't blow me away like the first 4 records. Best since the Black Album though.
I think it gets better for every listen. Now i love it!
But there's 2 things i dont like about it:
1. The production! I've never heard a CD with this much clipping and compression! I thought at first it was just the online mp3's that sounded like this. But the actual CD is the same. Some seem to like it, but i miss the absolute perfect production the Black album had. I would say the black album still today has one of the the best recorded drumsounds ever.
2. As i mentioned earlier, i'm not a fan of the solos. And i'm still not. They still sound uninspired and repetative with a serious overuse of the wah.
Not really a fan of metallica but i relly liked listening to Cyanid
Im a big fan of metallica. But it sounded like they used autotune on the vocals, it made them sound pretty dry and too clean in my opinion. Theres a few cool riffs here and there, but sounded ok overall.
I listened only the song "day that never comes" for now and can only review that song. To tell you the truth I didn't like it, sounds like a bunch of grooves stacked on top of each other. Yeah it's trash, but it is far away from Metallica best trash work. It's just lame and weak, no matter how hard and tight they play it:
Hetfield's singing is weak, and riffing is strong, but annoying after a while.
Kirk's solos were biggest disappointment of all: fast, uninspiring and lame.
Ulrich's grooves are the best part of the song, he plays them great, but again, too much groove changing can be annoying to the listener.
the video is terrible, classic american war propaganda, metallica should know better.
I think the tracks are great! I love Hetfields voice even if there is some autotune. He is old, give him a break!
I love the riffs but not the solos. One more thing that is annoying is the mastering.
It's really like you want to decrease the volume when playing it at normal volume.
When listening to Metallica you should feel like increasing so it's way overcompressed and clipping.
Your ears gets tired pretty quick, if you listen to the album loud with headphones it's NOT very nice
for your ears compared to other mastered albums.
They should really make another release ... for free because they got money, lots of money...
