After much soul searching and comparing of notes, Smells and I have selected the lucky 10 Intermediates
that will go through to the next round of the MTP competition with the prize of being Mentored by Muris!

Chris and I looked at all the entries separately and then compared our findings and we were in pretty good agreement throughout.

So, without further ado, the lucky winners in no particular order are:

Enforcer fatb0t Coffeeman Wrk lcsdds

Tolek Vaialation1232 UncleSkillet Velvet Roger Ajmurrel

Congratulations guys!

We will be pairing you up with test mentorees sometime around next weekend!

Congratulations to everyone. This experience has been very humbling for me and to be given this opportunity to give something back to this great community of musicians just leaves me speechless.

I don’t believe there are any losers among us whom submitted an entry even though this has been presented as a competition. A competition is good and healthy in the right context. But we are all in this together and there is a place for all of us to help and do more to make GMC even better.

Everyone needs to start getting their applications together and submit them for what ever level you feel you’re at. Don’t be afraid to reach out and apply. The worst thing that can happen in the end is you will make some great friends.

Thank you for this honor

"Think of a guitar solo as a paragraph. You need a clear beginning, a middle, and an end. Look at musical phrases like sentences, and make sure you break them up using punctuation—or space. You pause naturally when conversing, right? If you don't, you'll bore the listener. The same thing will happen with your audience if your solo is one dimensional. You'll wear them out and lose their attention." —Tom Principato

Well said Skillet!! It is only a "competition" because they have to have some way of narrowing the field down but ultimately for me it is just awesome to be able to interact with people who are as passionate about guitar playing as I am. I have NEVER had any kind of musical interaction with other musicians except on this board. GMC'ers are the coolest bunch of musicians on the net without a doubt and the Instructors here are WORLD CLASS without egos!! This is just AWESOME!!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
