Classic Player Baja 50's Telecaster weighing in at 7.375lbs (Everyone goes on about the weight of these things for some reason).

I'm only wondering how I'll get on with a three saddle bridge. I know there are compensated bridges out there so let's see. It's sitting there stabilising at the moment.

The light wasn't too good to take the pictures and flash would just ruin it.

Thanks buddy, I love it, the 12th fret harmonic intonation is pretty close, I haven't checked the rest though.

I like it that much I had a lump in my throat when I first played it after practising. You know when you buy something, get it home and it's more than you ever expected it to be???? biggrin.gif

Thanks Mertay,

I know there's always a honeymoon period but i can see myself getting up in the middle of the night just to play this one. I've never felt like that about a guitar. I love them all but this is special smile.gif

Apparently the bloke that designed it has made guitars for, Pete Townsend, Dave Gilmour, Billy Gibbons, Joe Walsh, Ron Wood, John Mayer and John 5

Loving it biggrin.gif

Welcome to Tele land!

That bridge should be fine. It's the 'traditional' tried and true bridge.
If you want to try some compensated saddles there are plenty to choose from and in my experience, all of them are good.

They make the Talman which is their interpretation of one, but I'm not sure if the Tele purists would let you into the club with one laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

I'm good with a Talman.

Ibanez made 'Teles' in the 70's. They even got sued.
*These are just grabbed from the web ...

Thanks for all the comments folks.
I'm in love with this guitar wub.gif I get butterflies in my stomach when I think about it, like when you have a new girlfriend rolleyes.gif I haven't felt like that with any other guitar.
This is the finest guitar I own, I know it's not a shredder but then, neither am I, but it just feels so right!!! Someone said to me yesterday, "It's one of the greatest guitars Fender have made". That might be stretching it a bit but I get answers he's coming from cool.gif
I think Fender may have shot themselves in the foot getting it made in Mexico, at that price, I haggled it down to £730 from £776, I can't see the point in buying an American Standard, unless you want more than one. I wonder how much this would be if it was made in USA??

Cheers folks smile.gif

A friend of mine I mentioned here a few times sold most of his guitars to buy Tele's smile.gif

It started with a modified squire (still his main guitar) thats comfy to play. Then got a mexican which has really high string but also a very woody tone. Then 1-2 more squires with hotter tele PU's but he doesn't play them much. He has a Tele with widerange humbuckers for sale (Similar to Gab.s tele if I remember correct) now though I did try to convince him not to sell it smile.gif Now he's saving for an American Standard.

I think the Tele overall is a really sweet combination of how much you fight the guitar to get tone and natural sound thats a comfort while playing. Specially Baja's don't survive long where I live when up for sale.

A Tele with lowered strings and preferably noiseless PU's can definitly shred (modded squires are great for this). Any inexpensive OD pedal that can increase the bass and output a bit will be enough for any amp.

The labor cost in Mexico is less than half what it is in the States and delivery is fast and close by.

As for what a new Fender Pro series Tele costs right now: average $1400 US so about double what you paid.
*It's in the resale (if one ever wants to sell it) where buying American pays off. The Mex Tele will most likely never be worth what you paid for it whereas an American Tele will raise in value as the years go by.

Having said that, a Mexican Tele (similar to yours) is the best tele I own.

I'm not really bothered about resale but I think it might, just might lose less than most Mexican Fenders because it is getting such a good reputation. I think mine might be in the more "desirable" weight range too, the forums really seem to waffle on about the weight for some reason.

Cheers
