Hey guys,
I'm posting this topic in order to get some help concerning dead notes.

I hear dead notes in almost every song I listen to, so I approximately know what it should sound like but I can never get the correct sound.
So what I would like to do is to 'gather' some of your personnal methods (the way you create a dead note), in order to improve or litterally change my dead note technique.

And before I forget, here's how I do: I just push slightly the strings without making em touch the fretboard, then I strum (I always get a crappy sound laugh.gif )

Many thanks

Hey guys!

My name's Kerem and I live in Belgium (actually I'm from Turkey biggrin.gif ), I'm 20 and I'm a first year student in the Business School of Warocqué here in Belgium...

Now, many thanks to Kris for putting online this amazing website, I hope to learn a lot in here (I don't think I need to hope though biggrin.gif , I WILL) Your videos are great, somehow you manage to explain things better than a private teacher, and I'm very glad with this laugh.gif

I began to play the guitar a few months ago, using a small book and its CD explaning the basics of the guitar... I was quite satisfied with it until I found this website, I immediatly changed my mind, this is really what I need (since there are videos, forums if you need help and so)

My favourite bands are Soundgarden, Rage Against the Machine and their recent meeting: Audioslave (yeah you may have guessed it, my fave guitarist is Tom Morello cool.gif ).

Hmm I'm running low on ideas so I think I'll stop here laugh.gif

I hope to have a good time and meet all the other guitarists here in GMC

Thanks again Kris, and keep up the good work !

ROCK ON !
