GMC Forum _ Bands and Guitarists _ Opeth - 20th Anniversary Tour

Posted by: Mandos Mar 26 2010, 09:11 AM

On Tuesday I'm going to see the anniversary show in Stockholm. Who's going to see any of the six shows?

MARCH 2010

* 30th - Cirkus, Stockholm - SWEDEN

APRIL 2010

* 1st - Lichtburg, Essen - GERMANY (SOLD OUT)
* 3rd - Bataclan, Paris - FRANCE (SOLD OUT)
* 5th - Royal Albert Hall, London - UK
* 7th - Terminal 5, New York - NY, USA (SOLD OUT)
* 9th - The Wiltern, Los Angeles - CA, USA (SOLD OUT)

I'm really looking forward to the concert. Especially since they're playing all of Blackwater Park which I think is their best album and it's real masterpiece. I'll be the third or fourth time I'll see them and they always deliver.

Going to the arena now. Have fun with

Posted by: Mandos Mar 31 2010, 12:41 AM

This was amazing!

The best way to describe the concert is to say that it ended with 3000 people (the whole arena) stood up and applauded for over ten minutes after the last song. I'm really blown away by this.

One day to go for me smile.gif

Posted by: Mandos Mar 31 2010, 12:38 PM

I can post the setlist for the second set if you're interested. If not I won't. smile.gif

Posted by: Marcus Siepen Apr 1 2010, 10:28 AM

Don't!!!! Or well, feel free to post it, I just won't check this topic anymore today wink.gif But as long as they keep their promise and play the whole Blackwater Park album (my fave) nothing can go wrong anyway smile.gif

Hope they strike here to south america. I saw them live on 2009 and they were amazing. Blackwater park is still being one of my favourite acts

Posted by: Marcus Siepen Apr 6 2010, 08:04 PM

Killer show in Essen, they played for about 3 hours smile.gif The only strange thing was the venue, it was a cinema, so everybody was sitting and this feels just weird in a death metal concert. Also the sound was not very loud during the blackwater park set, I guess there were movies still shown in the other rooms of that cinema, but for the second set the sound improved a lot then. well, great show, but next time I would prefer to see them in a "normal" venue.

Posted by: Santiago Diaz Garces Apr 7 2010, 05:19 AM

I hate "Sitted" shows, specially with bands like that. But is cool to watch the show in that way if the play all "Damnation" album

Posted by: Marcus Siepen Apr 7 2010, 09:36 AM

Even damnation I would prefer to watch standing, sitting during a show always feels like watching a DVD, something is just missing.

Posted by: Santiago Diaz Garces Apr 7 2010, 06:16 PM

Yeah, maybe you lost this sensation of adrenaline when you listen live to all the songs you like.
