But last night it did this thing where I was just playing, and then suddenly (or rather gradually, but over 4-5 seconds not just like a sudden "boom") this huge buzzing static noise would override anything I do. When I play while it's doing this it won't go away and sounds terrible, so I don't. I've tried different cords so that's not it. However when I unplug the cord for a second then plug it back in, it's normal again for 15-20 seconds or so, then it starts again. It seems to do it every time. Any help? Is it a grounding problem or something? I don't much about that stuff when it comes down to it so I'm a bit helpless. This isn't my main rig so it's not stopping me from playing or anything but if its persistent then I can't record, so I'd have to buy something new. When I change the buffer size next to "tone direct monitoring" it stopped for a moment but then started right back up again. I hooked up to my amp so I could play tonight (usually I use the toneport with some headphones when just jamming at night) and the same thing happened. I was going crazy - I thought maybe it had to do with my power source or something like that or that it was indeed the cord but to test I grabbed my telecaster and it is fine through the amp and the toneport. While this is good news for my recordings, it's not so good for my guitar... Is it just something to do with the input jack? Switching pickups does nothing, cutting the stereo switch down to mono does kill the noise. Hopefully this will be a cheap fix? I bought it used though so perhaps it was not extremely well taken care of, as it is a great guitar otherwise.
