Hi mate! This lesson is very tricky, and I have to say that your performance is very good! Your legato technique is very clean and clear here and that's not a small thing. If I get very strict, I can say that there are very little timing issues, and some notes that sound a bit weak, but mots of the parts sound precise mate, and very clean!

Congratulations on your hard work! I'll give you a 9 at REC.

Hi Gab

About collab 50's - I made a new mix on my take with "overlood TH3" preset
The first take was too aggessive with "Guitar Rig" preset.

Hi Gab

Vivaldi Winter arpeggios
I'm staging 90% of the speed. I continue exercises - I've got a job to do.

Simple metal Solo
I'm sending videos to Darius, I'm close
I have some sweeping sequences to improve

I'll start learning 25 jazz fusion licks,
I need to break my routine.

Here a take

Hi mate! Great to see you working hard! That Simple Metal solo is getting very close. I mostly notice some timing issues on legato licks, and also on some Sweep Picking ones. You tend to go a bit before the beat. Try to focus on playing tighter, don't rush the beat. Other than that, the licks sound clean and clear. You just have to fix timing, and make your vibrato work more consistent.

Hi mate! This lesson is called "Simple" Solo but it's not simple at all! It requires very precise technique.

You are able to play the whole thing at tempo and most of the parts sound clean and clear so this take obviously passes at REC. However, I feel that there is still more to get from this lesson regarding timing and feeling. Even if we compare the first two phrases we can notice that your timing and groove is not as smooth as it's in the original lesson. I recommend you to take some time to analyze and compare both takes (start with the first phrases) to notice the differences that I'm talking about.

If you go deep with this comparison, you'll also notice a different use of vibrato. You tend to start it soon and keep the same intensity while Darius makes is more gradual.

Regarding your technique, the Sweep picking licks close to the end need some adjustment. These licks are not totally clean and there is where you have a bit more important timing issues.

I'll grade this one at REC with a 7. Keep on the hard work!

Hi Gab,

The lesson is not simple, it is true, it is very difficult. I think Level is not appropriate
I’m disappointed - Your comments are hard - you think I wasn’t serious about this lesson

To be honest, I’ve worked hours and hours and I still need as much to progress further
Repeating, repeating and repeating the same thing is also very difficult. I had to move on
Darius gave me a lot of advice, At present, I am not able to apply them, but they will serve
to improve me in the future.

Let's compare what is comparable - I’m an amateur. it is impossible to get this precision with my
current skills. Criticisms are there to correct defects but they are sometimes harmful.
Right now I’m in the bottom of the wave and it’s hard to fight.

Maybe I need a GMC break to play something simpler

Hi mate!! I’m really sorry to read this!!

Every time you share a take I put all my energy to give you feedback that can help you to keep on improving your takes and your playing. I don’t think that you aren’t serious with the lesson, on the other hand I think that you are a hard worker and that your progress at guitarmasterclass is incredible.

My comments are not criticism, my comments are honest feedback with the only intention of helping you to get the most from the lessons. In this case, you have a 7 which means that the lesson passed so the most important elements are mastered.

It’s not my idea to harm you with my comments mate, so I’m very sorry if my feedback frustrates or makes you feel bad. I can be less deep with my analysis if it doesn’t help.

Hi Gab

As I told you in the previous message, I'm in the bottom of the wave. I feel like I'm stuck in a cycle.
- I practice some very difficult lessons, "Triplet etude" for more than 1 year.
- I stopped learning "Hybrid Ghost Note",
- I learned news like "Vivaldi winter Arpeggios".

About the lessons I love - There is always a difficulty in overcoming speed.
I learned "simple metal solo" because I thought I did a good job with this one.
I realized that speed isn't the main mistake, there are some others.
I am patient, but sometimes I want to close a lesson to validate one step, it motivates me to continue.

That is the reason why I am in a bad mood on the critics.
I am sorry, I am not used to complaining because it has no interest.
I will take a little break and play old lessons in order to obtain again the pleasure.

I'm staying at GMC, I like this website even if it's sometimes a bit elitist.

Have a nice day

Hi mate!

I remember a long list of difficult lessons that you've worked and mastered! Don't be that hard with you. Your progress is amazing mate!!

I don't understand why you say that GMC is elitist... Do you think that we should be less precise, honest and deep with our feedback?

GMC is a guitar community, and a guitar lesson sites. The instructors are here doing everything they can to help students. Our goal is to help you become a better guitarists while having fun playing and practicing. If you are not enjoying the process, we definitely need to do a change. smile.gif

Hi Gab,

Elitiste is not a bad critic,
I mean that the lessons offered are of professional quality,
Your playing, your tone, your harmonic build are perfect.
It's hard to understand how you get this.

I don't know if you need to improve things because GMC instructor already give a lot.
The price cost GMC is cool and the content is huge.

If I had to give some improvement axes :

GMC lacks an improvization section.
I'm talking about something that targets the beginner to give him tools.
Ex: a lesson with a BT (duration 2mn) : Rock, Blues, metal etc…

Example: Lesson II V I
On the II degres you can play these notes
Where you can play chromaticism
On the V degree these other notes etc…

Guitarist creates his own solo with a line he understands.
I'm not talking about an video on-line like Kris play sweeping and aternate picking at full speed.
I'm not talking about written theory either, it's too complicated for most of us,

I'm talking about a short explanatory video that would be noted in the REC section
I know what I ask is a lot but I wanted to give you my way of seeing a learning site.
I know Kris proposes Jam School: Motivic Development - but it's too sophisticated for me.

For me this kind of video is what I mean.
It's absolutely great for a beginner in improvisation.
It should be the same for the guitarist a bit more advanced

Hi

I made a few takes in recent months. On each of them I heard defects.
I thought : we'll see tomorrow maybe I'll play better

Since a few days, I felt a progress - I made a video to show you

I will keep the concentration and work the 2nd part
