Rules
Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.
The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Great intro to B flat Minor. Easy to play. Something about Muris's vibrato & how smoothly he does it ... very difficult to emulate. Practice, practice, practice I guess! |

And yes, the answer is practicing just to get more and more intimate with the piece itself!

I think you did this one excellent. Very smooth tone, and good approach to the notes when doing a vibrato, very natural. Your vibrato is sounding natural, but still needs to be a bit more even/controlled. Almost all the notes came out good, so I'll give this a very strong 9.

I don't often (ever) grade REC takes, but I have worked on this solo myself and understand the subtlety of it
 I have to compliment you on the clean way you played the notes and captured the feel. Like all of Muris' lessons, this sounds deceptively simple but the complexity is as always in the phrasing. I think you captured the spirit of the piece excellently, and I can only find slight fault with the subtleties of the vibrato, which can take a lifetime to master.
