Ok I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this but i'll ask anyway.

When you have a chord progression in a "minor" key is it always related back to the relative "Major" key to define the chord progression?

Say we have this progression -

A min - F Maj - C Maj - G Maj

In the the relative "Major" key it would be a ( vi - IV - I - V ) in the key of C - Major

But....

Is it ever looked at as a ( I - vi - iii- vii ) in the key of A min?

Just curious

Hi,
I just joined and I think this site is great. Not only are there great lessons here but I love this forum idea.
I have been on a few other guitar sites but they did not have a forum where you can interact and ask questions.
I am 44 years young and have been playing since I was 11. I know how to play but I am constantly finding out how much more there is too learn. I absolutely love the guitar as we all do if were on this site. I play Charvel/Jackson guitars and perfer the ones made in the '80s.
My favorite guitarist and biggest influence would have to be Randy Rhoads. I've found myself falling in love with "Shred" guitar and there are alot of fantastic players in this style that I admire. Looking forward to meeting some great people here as well as working on my chops. I might even one day contribute my own video lessons as I have the ability, however I am extremely humbled by the level of talent here so it might be awhile before doing so. laugh.gif Rock On!

Hi all!
I am a newbie here and was wondering if anyone could tell me the best way to apply diminished arpeggios when you solo.
Obviously they are everywhere on Yngwie's recordings but I find when I practice soloing they don't seem to fit very well.
What is the proper way to use them in your opinion? Thank you in advance
