just to add that low quality machine heads can also be part of the problem with staying in tune (if one don't have locking nuts)

Hey, I was wondering, what bridge do you have on your guitar that you use in the lessons that use the whammy bar? cause my strat gets out of tune every time I use the whammy bar a lot. and my guitar teacher said strats aren't ment to do that, and it wasn't just my guitar. Hey I assume you refer to the Vibrato lesson - part 2. Is that right? That guitar has a Floyd Rose. All my Strats have vintage style tremolos though. I use the whammy bar every day, and have no troubles. I think the most critical thing is the nut, and I usually put some graphite to it (where the string lies) to make the string slide easier. I'm sure the 3 in 1 oil that Smells mentioned works great as well (haven't tried it though). -Marcus |
