i guys,

I think about selling my Jem 7DBK for another guitar close to the 1500 $ line. I was thinking about an Ibanez S5470

But I dont know where to look for other ones. The Prestige Rg's are a bit too expensive and I dont know if these guitars are equal or better then my jem. ( Can any of you guys help me on this subject ? )

If anyone here got another guitar that's in that price range pls post it.

I want a :

-24 fret
- Good Good tremelo system. ( I dont want any strings to break easily, good adjustment, stays in tune )

I also wanted to know if any of you have expierience with the guitar mentioned above ? How is this new tremolo system ( I never played it , only the old system on my Jem and JCRG 5-VV )

Thx for the input !

I can't approve to buy ANY Jem guitar. The lower priced Jem is just inferior to the Prestige Rg's (In quality of built and parts) and the HIGH end Jem is a great guitar but terribly overpriced.

You best go with a Prestige Rg like one of these:

f you like the color (I don't ^^) this would be a great guitar! It's a reissue of the 80's Rg's so it's limited and will be a collectors Item in a few years... It has the OLD Tremolo system, The Edge 1, which some claim to be the best Ibanez Tremolo ever and it also has the 80's style Wizard1 neck which is the thinnest Neck of all Ibanez Guitars!!!
If you replace the stock pickups with some of you choice (I would recommend a Steve Vai Set) then you'll have a guitar that's far better than you JEM imho

Thx for the input but that is the ugliest color I have ever seen biggrin.gif
What should I be looking for in particular ? I mean I want a good guitar with a good trem. It should have 24 frets and the pickups need to be good. Is there something for me in the Rg series ?

Hell even a non Ibanez guitar maybe biggrin.gif

how is that the ugliest color....sorry its not black....
lower priced jems are not inferior to the prestige RGs..i dont know where you got that info from...they are the same if not better....they are a bit over priced but its because they are a signature guitar...all signature guitars will be over priced

"the pick ups need to be good" i cant tell you how many times people say that

what the hell does good pick ups mean anyways?> you might like one pick up, i might hate the other...like i think EMGs are the crappiest pick ups on the planet, but other people think its the best....

you can get an rg2550z for around 800-900 and use some of the money left over for pick ups....you will have a great guitar, the best trem on the market, and some money extra on the side

Yea i know thats a pretty subjective statement that I posted there. thx for the info. I can take other colors than black wink.gif. But lets just see that combination is a little to bright for me.

When good pickups you are right about that. I just want a versatile sound

I vote the rg2610. It's second from the top on the RG line, It'll run you about the same as the RG2550, but the specs are a bit tighter i think.

That is one guitar I will never sell, and I change gear a lot.
