Here's currently some of what I'm working on. I'll probably be posting these to the REC soon:
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Cookin...Second-Helping/ https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Rhythm...g_Combinations/ https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guit...picking-lesson/ https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/blue-n...part4-solo-no2/ (this is the only REC take that I've submitted that I got a failing grade on) I'd really like to keep the focus on alternate picking speed. That seems to be the thing that keeps me from mastering the tougher lessons. As always, all my guitar material can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/duathlon70 In my dream world, I'd like to be able to play Muris' Extreme Neo-Classical lesson by my 3rd anniversary here (sept 2010). Assignment 1:
Hello Purple Hayes! Those are really cool lessons and we can use the one that you find more difficult for our MTP. Then I can write some exercises to help you with it. Let's start this month's MTP with a lesson with some cool metal patterns that will help you to train your alternate picking. I suggest you to practice the lesson over the looped baking I play it until you feel that your hand/muscles start to hurt. When you feel your hand tired stop and relax your fingers. You can practice this faster than the original lesson if you want but the most important thing here is to train your muscles. Here you have the links to this Lian's lesson: Assignment 1 Gabriel.- -------------------- My lessons

Hello Purple Hayes! Sorry for the delay. We are having the drum sessions at the studio for Cirse's new album!
I think that this lesson that you suggested on December is a good idea for this month. https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guit...en-masterclass/ What do you think? -------------------- My lessons

Nice take man. Everything sound ok excepting when you reach the first string. You lost the timing when you reach this strings because of the frets jump. You must solve this moving your left hand faster. The best way to practice this is over the backing, over a drum machine or over the metronome. I also think that you have to play the strings stronger with your pick.
Assignment 2: We will continue with alternate picking technique but this time used in a less common way. We will play it over arpeggios. This means that you'll play one note per string using alternate picking. This is a very effective training for your right hand so you must loop the lesson and play it until you feel your right hand tired. This technique is used but some guitar players like John Petrucci to get a different sound (than the sweep picking) playing arpeggios. Here you have the link to the lesson: Alternate Picking over arpeggios PS: I hope that your son gets better soon! -------------------- My lessons

Hello Purple Hayes. Thank you for the fast entry. You did a great job! The faster version sound even clearer than the first one! Please post here when you have the REC take of this one because I want to see the progress on this technique. You could learn the first part of John Petrucci's Glasgow Kiss song to continue exploring this technique. I can see that you are playing this correctly and as always I only suggest you to play the notes stronger to reach a clearer and more defined sound.
Assignment 3 This week we will explore pentatonic licks played with alternate picking. This licks are very used by guitar players like Zakk Wylde, Randy Roads and also John Petrucci. In the following Pablo Vazquez lesson you will find different repetitive licks combining two strings that will help you to develop this technique. Remember to move your right hand the less possible and to pick the notes strongly. You can practice this over metronome and it would be awesome if you can play this even faster than the lesson. Pentatonic Rock Licks 1 Enjoy it! -------------------- My lessons

Hello Purple Hayes! I hope that everything is ok! Thanks for the take. It's sounds perfect. Every note sounds clear and with a perfect timing. You did a great job. The next step for this one is to increase the tempo in the next weeks.
I will start working on your new assignment today but I'm curious to know what have you been listening the last weeks. Any new band or guitar player discovered? Maybe you can share some links here. -------------------- My lessons

Wou! This is really amazing music! Both songs sound so original! You are a very open minded musician and I think that it has a great value! Thanks for sharing and keep this type of stuff coming!
Before posting the 4th assignment I would like to know two things about you:
4th Assignment: Well, in this last assignment the idea is to start to incorporate neoclassical licks. You told me that one of your objectives for this year is to play the Extreme Neoclassical lesson and that why I think that it will be great if you start practicing some Yngwie Malmsteen/Vinnie Moore style licks. I'll give you my first Malmsteen style lesson to make you practice Sweep Picking and Alternate Picking Neoclassical licks. You can decide if you prefer divide the lesson in different exercises and play them as individual licks or if you prefer to post the complete lesson here. This is the link to the lesson: YM Style -------------------- My lessons

Before posting the 4th assignment I would like to know two things about you: I never write my own stuff.
I have the basics of music theory down pretty well. I don't read sheet music very well though.
