Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi Tim, your rhythm playing is really good here. The chord strumming is good and I like the way you capture the staccato pauses at the end of the main riff.

The lead sections are much more challenging. You tend to get left behind during the faster passages, like open string / slide lick at 0:32 (and the later repeat) and that fast bending lick later in the lesson.

This isn't a bad thing - this is normal because you're not quite at that level of speed yet. Your fingers need to develop more quickness but you will get there eventually.

Hi Tim,

We are working together at Gab's Army so you receive my feedback and guidance mostly there. We already talked about the faster licks of this lesson which need some more practice until you get more familiar with those figures at this tempo.

In this lesson you need to focus on that lick and also on adjusting the groove on the second section, when the lead guitar goes from triads to single note funky patterns. This section is not bad, but there is more room to adjust the timing there.

Keep on the hard work!

Hey Tim!
I always enjoy to watch JAvier's lessons and people's take over them smile.gif

First of all you need to hardly focus and match both - the strength and the width of right hand. I feel like it's slightly too relaxed to keep that shuffling tight. You do not make exactly the same "tone vs percussive strokes" proportion. At some point you have a leak of tone at the spots where we should hear only percussive strumming. Final licks need some more workout - the are not precise yet. Overall it's a pleasant performance but you have a little timing dissonance with that tightness of shuffle we would expect in this kind of playing
