Hey! What i mean is, for example, last year when i started to kick up my guitar playing i was learning a bunch of solos from the Kee Marcello instructional, I really loved his wide vibrato, so I would slow the video down to 50 percent...25 percent...10 percent JUST to hear EXACTLY how it sounded, (I suppose being hunched over with my ear pressed to a speaker whilst listening to a track at a bullet time speed over and over again would look pretty "crazzzzzy")

Anyone done anything to the excess that would look crazy to a non musician? (or musician)

Weeee

36 hours recording a song of mine called "Pair Annihilation". The original version clocked in at 22 minutes, was later cut into a 14 minute song and an 8-9 minute song. I ate next to nothing, dont recall using the bathroom, didnt sleep or answer the phone, just sat there and recorded guitar, vocals, did the drums, synths, everything non stop. I drank a TON of Arizon iced tea, ungodly amounts, something like 25-30 cans.

Congratulations.. you are a true artist !! biggrin.gif

Hmm, I can't think of anything too crazy but I remember my earliest primitive attempts at recording.

I once got hold of 2 empty Pringles tubes and recorded myself with a portable 'ghetto blaster', beating a basic drum beat on them with a pair of knitting needles. I just tried to keep in time in my own head as I had no other reference point. The ghetto blaster was great because it had an inbuilt microphone and would record anything in the room.

I then placed that tape into my other stereo, then pressed play. I then recorded myself (with the original ghetto blaster) playing guitar over the top of the Pringle drum beat ! So the ghetto blaster picked up the sound of the taped drum beat coming from the other stereo and my guitar. My first attempt at multi tracking !! laugh.gif
