Lately, when recording a song, I also create a 3D fractal animation video for it. I find it rewarding to create a full audio and visual experience, plus it's a lot of fun to write music to score a video, sort of like writing a soundtrack. I've been uploading them on vimeo and here are a couple of recent songs.

Feedback and suggestions are appreciated, particularly regarding the mix.

Wou! This is killer!! I really like both videos and how music goes with them. What software are you using for 3D? Are the videos all done by you? I mean if you started from zero or you used some templates...

Fantastic work! Congrats!

Thanks. I created the videos with an app called Mandelbulb3D. It isn't necessary to understand the mathematics to build the animation, but it does require a lot of patience to create the model and animate it. And a lot of cpu. Each one of those videos took about 2 weeks on my six core macpro, running continuously, to render the video.

On the audio, I used a Schecter Blackjack through an AxeFX II (and on some tracks through an AMT SS20). And, of course, I used my own plugins smile.gif.

The value of providing a video to accompany a recording might make for an interesting topic.
