Look into running your Pod into an amplifier like this:
https://www.carvinguitars.com/products/sing...p?product=TS100 I use a Digitech GSP-1101 (pod-like) into this amp then to a Peavey 5150 4x12 cab. Sounds great! The other guitarist in my band has a 5150 head and a mesa head. His rig is a bit punchier and a bit more "live" sounding due to having a tube preamp. But I have no complaints here. Another benefit is I can leave the amp and 4x12 at practice and just take the GSP home. Its all of 6 pounds. -------------------- My Gear

I agree with Daniel, I love my Mesa Boogie more than any other amp, but you have to be into this kind of amp I guess, there are definitely other amps that are easier to handle. So maybe you should check out some other brands as well, just to get an impression how it feels to play through those ones.

It is a fact that modelling software can sometimes "improve" your playing. By improving I don't mean real improving, but killing the dynamics and smearing the sound so that errors dont' come out that loud. On the other hand, when you play through a proper amp, everything goes out just as you played it, so you need to play perfectly if you want to sound perfect, it makes sense right?
On the other hand I do agree with the others here when they say the Mesa could not be the good choice for you. I personally don't like Mesa, it's to clean from me. I like Marshalls because of their crunchy warm tone. Some would say on the other hand that Marshall is too dirty and unprecise, so it's all matter of personal taste of course. Perhaps you could go to a store and tryout some amps to see what you will come up with. You can try similar gear like you use as emulation with POD, this can lead you somewhere for sure mate. -------------------- - Ivan's Video Chat Lesson Notes HERE

Ivan has a point I believe,it could be dynamics.
With modelers and all digital units all tones you're playing are kind a leveled AND not getting out much articulated, so that might lead to more clean playing. -------------------- Youtube
