in this take, I decided to record the guitar live,because it seems to me that the dynamics are disappearing.the first half is recorded through a combo , and the second is already through a live guitar signal processed

I enjoyed your take here quite a bit!! you are going for the same type of dynamic play that is the original lesson. The original has a very live, and loose feel while still being under control. The original is a bit more exaggerated in spots in tems of vibrato and bending, but your version still works musically IMHO. Good job on the fast scale run as well!!

I'm impressive to memorize this many notes and play them with syle and verve. You have made great progress and you continue to do so!!! I really liked this one and I'm giving you a solid 8!!!!

Keep practicing!! It's paying off! I see some bits from our work in quick licks and bootcamp!!! YOu show good form and good technique. Well played!!

Cool Siinthd,

First - I need to comment on some technicalities.

I generally try to focus on the overall musical impression I get from REC takes, as this to me is way more important than technique details.

Your audio recording sounds like you are recording with a mic in the room, maybe directly from your phone placed far away from your amp/monitor. We hear a lot of room reverberations which usually is nasty experience unless you have a pro studio room. So my first advice is to brush up a little on your recording skills - you might even want to start by looking around here on the forum and ask some questions, as we have many knowledgeable members.

As for your technique I would like to comment on your right hand, as I believe it might have some inconsistencies - however it seems audio is not very well synced with video which makes it hard for me to understand what is happening with your picking.

I do see that your left hand is using mostly finger strength to bend the notes - which is something that can get tiring and cause strain -> making it harder to play fast/relaxed.

It does seem to me to have put in some serious work to nail this lesson, and as far as I can hear you are mostly playing this in time so I will give you a passing grade of 6.

Keep up the hard work - I am looking forward to seeing more of your takes!

Hi mate! Good job here!

I think that both Kris and Todd commented the most important things to work here. I also think that improving your audio mix can make this one much more enjoyable and easier to analyze. (Let me know if you need help with it)

Your playing is good here, but I think that there is still more room to make it more consistent, mostly when playing those ascendant alternate picking passages. (You can add some extra exercises: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/search/alternate+picking/)

To summarie, I would improve your sound here, and continue practicing to make everything sound more consistent. For example, you can work more on vibrato and dynamics, and off course, continue training your AP technique.

Hey there!

The problem with your audio is that we loose a lot of details like unwanted strings noise or a "tail" of vibrated notes ...and similar. This makes us not able to fairly judge what's going on in your playing. Electric guitar is always going through an amp so if you feel any problems with dynamics, it still has to be solved through an amp. Cam audio looses detials so it does not solve the problem. It only covers the flaws.

As for what I can tell by what I can notice from this particualr video is that David is using more agressive vibrato in his original take. there are some little timing issues as well.

I belive I can hear some unwanted string noise but I can't tell for sure becasue of the room noise to amp noise poor ratio. Notice that David does rotate his right palm so it touches the low strings when he plays on higher ones. This way they are protected from ringing and disturbing esential note.

I think your first target should be trying to workout better recording conditions becasue it gives us better reference to help you develope your skills.
