I've never really practiced sweeping at slower tempos, but it proved really difficult!

Hi Cael,

Yeah, that's true. Even being able to play sweep picking at fast tempo, it can be challenging to play it very slow. This take is good, you can play the whole thing and there are not dramatic issues.

In order to make this sounds even better, you just could put some more work to adjust timing which tends to be a bit after the beat, and also to clean up everything, making all notes sound clear, and clean, by avoiding the double note effect. For this you have to be sure to mute the previous note at the same moment (or a microsecond before) that you pick the next one.

That's all by now, keep on the hard work!

Hey Ben!
In my opinion your timing is really good for that particular technique in this particular tempo. It's a huge challenge at two fields - timing and picking hand mechanics. Good news for you is that while going down "vertical-wise" you keep the exact kind of right hand motion, that the sweep is all about. At the same time when you go back (up vertical-wise) you use a regular pick jumping motion. That's to be fixed. Upstroke sweep have the same idea of pick falling from one string to another, as downpicking in sweep licks.

There were a few moments that are hard but possible to clearly separate notes played with teh same finger. It's a hard task but it's possible. That was missing in your take.

Last find are some kind of intonation isses - probably caused more by the instrument than your playing - I haven't spot anny particular hand mechanics causing this to happen.

Aside from above it's a really good take ove this lessons. Seems like I have been underating it's level a bit. IT demands some specific patience and focus to keep typical sweep motion and descent timing at the same time.

Well done smile.gif

Very well done! Not only is your technique precise but tone is great.

Great tone has to be established at this tempo already, otherwise it will be too late!

To super-tweak the take you could fix some notes that are not quite as loud and fix some notes that ring together.
