thanks alot, it just seems to go out of tune alot when i use the whammy, is this normal?? also when i watch guitar lessons at like intermediate level and see them soloing evverywere on like say an ibanez, would they be able to do that on this?

Since I inherited a Guild Starfire V guitar from my father (that guitar has a body quite similar to your guitar's body) I can tell you that it is difficult to shred on such a guitar, but it's great for rock'n'roll rhythm and for blues and old school rock soloing.
But as always, I think it's a matter of training.

Bigsby's are renown for their tuning problems! It'll be fine as long as your whammy use is subtle and doesn't go over much more than a whole tone in either direction, NO DIVE BOMBING!!!!! laugh.gif laugh.gif
It will be a little more difficult to 'shred' but anyone who says that it will be impossible has obviously not listened to Brian Setzer and Chet Atkins!!!

that's an amazin guitar bro, perfect for rock n roll.
the gibsy is a classic tremolo system, so just be gentle with it, it's more a vibrato kinda thing.

once again AMAZING guitar!

Perhaps, if you got it just today or the other day the strings are not worn in yet?

I don't know about Gretsch but most new guitars come with strings that are hopeless.

Bigsby is more there for vibrato effects then for precise tune/detune, but you can try and see where the limit is. You can get used to that limit relatively fast, and than work the whammy inside the safe range.

You still looking for a sound sample?

My girlfriends son has a similar model electromatic.

I can do one if the OP doesn't want to or hasn;t got the equipment.

It's (mine) the electromatic version of the country gentleman

They're a great series of guitars.

Be gentle with the trem. think link wray surf master biggrin.gif

Will be a great rock n roll guitar and looks cool as....
