http://www.freelicks.net/index.htm

becouse i'm know 5 boxes or A-minor pentatonic i'm use the slow 60bpm bluesy backing track.it's good exersize for moving over the 5 boxes a specialy with lot of sliding that's sound nice bluesy

i'm Metalhead guy but i'm thing thats can help cool.gif

My question is- do i'm need to folow a find anythime approximately same speed like have backing track??to sound good or it's possible to play with good sound over for example 60bpm backing track and play slower or more speedy and still sound good???{find the right timing}

becouse i'm find my self when i'm just playing some licks or get the speed more up to have the mine sound inharmonious with the backing track

Thankk you--Rene

Hi Rene,

Actually the backing track tempo doesn't really prevent you from playing any speed you like - if you are playing too slowly you can speed it up by playing faster runs (maybe 16ths in stead of 8ths, or 16th triplets) - it will work as long as you still stay in time, and it will sound a lot faster. Of course the reverse is also true.

For a great illustration of how the same backing track can sound slow or fast, listen to all 3 of Muris' Bb Minor Phrasing lessons. He uses the same backing tracks but his playing is faster in the intermediate than the beginner, and even faster in the advanced.

thanks Anrew-the 3 of Muris' Bb Minor Phrasing lessons. is good explanation.
my problem was probbaly also becouse i'm beghiner so i'm most time use just sliding and struming
the point to sound good in more speed or slower speed{there i'm dont have problem laugh.gif } is timing
so what i'm need to do is probalyy use mteronom and put on some time interval 16ths in stead of 8ths, or 16th triplets note

maybe good id is try to listen good the backing and then use the drums or horn and use that like metronom?

thank you Andrew for respond cool.gif
