Hi all, sometime ago I told you to stay tuned as a new exciting project was coming your way, well here it is!
We are looking for up to three members insterested in managing some of the Wiki Portals, such as Gear, Theory, Bands, etc. So far we have been focusing our efforts in maintaining an updated mainpage, journal & creating new articles, as well as putting the great amount of knowledge that resides in our forums into our wiki. But we also have many different portal sections in the wiki, which also need to be refreshed and updated, and we'd like to find some members willing to take some further wiki responsibilities in this area. Some portals are bigger than others, so each candidate could take care of one "bigger" and one "smaller" portal to start, I think these are some nice portals: - Gear & Genres (We have lots of gear entries written & needed) - Bands & Guitarists (We also have loads of entries about Bands & Guitarists) - Theory & Techniques (Hint: It would be really cool to slowly bring Andrew's lessons to our wiki!) What would you have to do? - Select and display interesting wiki content in the different areas of the portal - Keep the portal regularly updated, displaying new featured articles etc. from the existent wiki entries. - Create some new entries - Keep an eye on the forums for interesting info/lessons that could be featured in the portal - Anything you can think of to make the portal interesting! Any rewards? - Free GMC lesson access. That's right, you get full GMC access for free. How cool is that? Anyone can apply for this task. There will be a month trial period to see how the selected candidates do. I will help you so you know what you need to do and how, specially at the beginning, it's easy though, you'll be updating portals in no time. Some wiki writing knowledge is desired, so Wiki:writers are speciallly encouraged to take part! Candidates will be selected based on prior wiki experience and past contributions. Post in this thread or PM me if you are interested & feel free to ask any doubts. -------------------- Guitars:

I'd like to help out in the Theory and Techniques portal as it's a subject I know a fair bit about. One of my favourite things to write on the wiki is adding to the Theory Glossary.

Nice to see that we already have a few candidates!
For the ones in doubt you can see what I mean by portals if you access each one of them from the top right corner of the wiki frontpage, for instance, this is the current gear portal: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/wiki/index.php/Portal:Gear As you guys can see, it has an introduction section, featured article section, other articles section, etc. Those sections can be renamed etc, so they feature different things; for instance encyclopedic wiki entries or user review entries from the forums that are already in our wiki, pictures, lessons, etc... And the same thing happens with the other portals too. It would be nice if you share your ideas like O.C. and Kaz did, so I get to know a bit about your plans regarding the portal. That, coupled with your prior wiki experience & contributions should help me choose our three new portal resposibles. I'll leave the thread open until saturday 17th, so everyone has enough time to see it & think about it and what they could do to contribute to the portal. Building the portal sections is not really different from creating usual articles, so don't worry about that, there are just a couple things you should know to access the different sections and rename them, but I'll help you when we are at it, you'll see it's fun and piece of cake -------------------- Guitars:

Great idea Matt!!! I'm sure I saw a request for a Scale Database in another thread somewhere. What a great resource this would be to have here!! There is one on the wiki with just lists of diagrams at the moment, but so far it's just pentatonics. I'd like to expand that and say a bit about each scale.
