"Know your equipment and when you are playing a gig with unfamiliar equipment be prepared and bring your own if you can (amp, mics etc)..People in audience will judge the band based on what they hear , they don't know if the bad-on-stage-equipment is to blame.."

Those are wise words. Sound is the most important thing, and it depends on the equipment a lot. Always try to use your own equipment whenever possible, this will give you your sound, your trademark.

I agree 100 %.So many times the equipment was bad,and the audience suffered,and we could nothing do a bout it.

Also if you're playing bass , having a good DI-Box and/or one with a preamp/eq in it will make your bass sound awesome through PA system , regardless of amp on stage...Its a small investment worth a lot!
