Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

You need to find other distortion type or less gain preset for this one smile.gif As You probably noticed Gabriel is using the type of sound which makes him able to do those percussive fills like about 0:53. In Your recording we can here some unwanted natural harmonics. Also notice how in about 1:00 + Gabriel uses his first finger to play melody and other fingers to control lower strings.

I think You're very close but as far as we have to be completely honest for Your good...I think You should work on it a bit more cause it's very close smile.gif Cheers! smile.gif

Hey man! I notice you are extremely active lately, which is very good! My observations regarding this take:

In comparison with Gabe's you need to work on definition/ tightness and timing to get this one going - the timing issues are mostly occuring around 0:45 - 0:59, where after some time you get back in tempo with the click, but in general in that part, you are not in synch with the backing track.

What you should do, in my opinion is take the time to understand the way in which the rhythmic subdivisions contained in the phrases are superimposed over the drum track - look at the notes in the classical notation above the tabs. See, this is one thing that tabs will never show, when a note is played and how much it lasts. The classical notation does tell you that and even if you can't sight read, it would be very good to be able to understand note durations and analyze them when learning something - it will help tremendously in collaboration with your ears.

My conclusion regarding your general activity is that details are what really kills you man - I will make up the little video for you regarding the Deftones lesson and we'll take it from there wink.gif

Cheers!

Cosmin

Hi Rammikin! You received very important feedback about your playing. As my friends said, the main problem here is timing. I can say that the whole solo section is played with a different rhythm, so it's wrong. Check your take and compare it to the original lesson and you'll notice what I mean. Follow Cosmin's suggestions and work hard! wink.gif
