I am also very happy with POD X3 live. I have to say I had POD XT before and this is a big improvement.

If you have the chance to try both on a store, just do it. If you compare what you already know about POD XT with boss gt-10 is unfair. Same would go comparing POD X3 with gt-8.

I'm for the POD X3 Live. I compared the two quite a bit (on paper) before getting the X3 before the GT-10 came out.
Editing looks pretty much the same except for that Boss got the tone wizard but I find the Line6 gear box to be like the real thing, visual and easy to understand.

The things I hold high with the X3 is the dual tones. Way superior to anything I heard before, like playing to rigs at the same time, pan them L and R and you got such fullness. And the possibility to record vocals with useful effects and bass is great for someone looking for the complete soundinterface.

And what's said about the Boss recording through USB, same goes for the POD X3. Also got a stereo effects loop like tha Boss (I think Boss has that).

It's got XLR (for mic) input
Balanced XLR outputs
And it's got this small 1/8" input for an mp3 player (or computer) or similar for jamming along.

Easy to access EQ knobs, Volume and Gain. Just what you'd find on an amp so it's easy to adjust the sound with these knobs. Just like on an amp.

And if I never mentioned it, I've got the POD X3 Live and couldn't be happier.

Your POD won't work as a pedalboard live, now will it?

My opinion is that GT10 has better sound of course. You should definitely try them out in a store if you have the chance.

Your POD won't work as a pedalboard live, now will it?

It can run without amp modeling and only have the effects so I don't see why I couldn't plug it into the loop and use the STOMP/MOD/DELAY/BOOST and Wah/Volume on stage? Like a pedalboard. Either to the input of the amp or to the poweramp but then maybe better off with a preamp selected in the POD.

What's cooler is that it can be used to feed two amps at the same time with two different tones.
Or have two guitars connected (one through the AUX) with two different tones per guitar, and I suppose they can further go to seperate amps or separate channels in the PA.
But maybe the Boss can do that aswell, I'm not very familiar with it.

And you can connect different instruments that run at the same time, f.ex vocals and guitar. And I guess guitar and bass would work too only selecting a bass tone for tone2.
I don't think the Boss can do that and I can see that's useful if you just want to bring little gear to a gig. Just the PA, the POD and a vocals mic. The drummer is the only one left with a problem


EDIT: It's been said that Boss has the better effects untis while Line6 has better amp modeling. Being on the look for a soundinterface and amp modeling mainly for recording I got the POD X3.

I know that pod x3 has great sound but I feel that the gt 10 is way beter at heavier stuff.IF I CAN i will definetely try compare them tell you all about it. Oh an about the double feeding thing that can also be done by boss gt 10

i like it really very much - there are some really cool things about it like
- the looper - great for practicing solos and for creating cool sounds
- you can change the sound without playing just play what you recorded first - great for creating sounds cause you dont have to play everYthing again after changing some parameters
- eazy ton system is really great for finding your tone
- recording is so easy just plug in the usb and take audacity or any other recording programm and get exactly the sound you hear recorded..

so to sum it up:
its just great!!
