Hey guys, I was remembering that Vai's video that we had just couple of days ago, and it stood that we as musicians should develop the things we are doing well, as opposed to things that we don't do so well (Vai said this a bit better tho )
My stronger sides are: - vibrato - bends - pentatonics - mixing of major/minor scales - chordal playing with embelishments - blues scale/dorian/beebop mix These are definitely techniques and scales that I feel "at home". I must confess tapping and sweep picking were rarely on my practice lists, but I'm slowly catching up there as well. - Legato
- Fast Alternate Picking - Major/Minor scales modes - Bends Are my stronger sides. I'm also working on vibrato and tapping which are average currently and started to practice sweep picking lately. Strong sides: Bending, Hammer Ons and Pull Offs, Vibrato, playing Pentatonics (Major and Minor), Depressed attitude needed for true blues emotion , and finger picking.
Weak points: Legato, sweep picking, tapping, string skipping, and coffee (Gotta have it) I also saw the video, and thought it was interesting that Vai said he doesn't work on his weak points, but he ignores them, and works instead on developing his good points. Matter of fact that video really bugged me and my practicing for a couple days cause I was working on one of my weaknesses (legato) and wondered if I should be working on one of my strengths instead. In the end I decided to go ahead and continue working at legato, and just try and split my time evenly between developing strengths, improving weaknesses, and drinking more coffee! -------------------- My Sound Cloud Profile: http://soundcloud.com/casinostrat

Its a difficult question. Everythin I look at needs to be improved. I would have to agree with this, regardless if it would be strong or not, to me it's not. I feel I should always be working at it harder so that I may become faster, better times, more articulate. -------------------- Guitars:
