Hey Guys..
I´m going to buy a guitar that have been wanting for a long long time .. The Mithy Stratocaster !!!! biggrin.gif
It's gona be a mexican classic series or a classic player ..
I think the classic player is a better choice and that is that one that i prabably will go for (the sonic blue one ) but i really like candy aplle red and there is a CAR in the classic series (oh and the headstock looks a lot cooler in theese ones) ..
SO my question is are the classic players really better than the classic series cause if they are not i would much rather have the Candy aplle red wich looks stunning ? and also i heard that the '69 pickups in the classic player were just copys of the original 69's is this true ??

Candy red is definitely beautiful. Though I don't know the difference between those strats - maybe you should try them in store to see which one feels like "the one" to you.

Candy red is beautiful. I don't really know the difference between those two models, but as long as the bridge stays in tune and the guitar feels right in your hands I say go for it smile.gif

that is the problem .. even tho they both seem to be good for the price, the red one seems to have some tunning stability issues ( this is what i hear from reviews ) and the pickups are not so good as the ones on the classic players ( or i atleast i think they are .. pls correct me if they are not )

Ruben - Flip a coin... until it lands on the side you want! Best out of 1500+

Do you want high quality or good quality? Classic Player '60s is from the custom shop.
Do you want a larger or smaller fretboard? 12" radius, flatter and real sized frets would make the biggest difference in playability.
Do you want a better strat sound or village? Classic Player '60s has CS69 pickups (what a Strat should sound like).

If you want a direct answer, get the Classic Player '60s!
Out of those two, it's the better quality, and sounds betters. Probably would feel a lot better to solo out on and dig into.
It is the Classic Series, but professionally customized to a high standard, hint, hint.

The only thing holding you back from that is the colour, which ain't that bad...
The Sonic Blue colour, probably would look a lot different in person.

The best colour is however, Sunburst, if you could pick. I love the burnt look. That looked mint on my old 50s and lasts.

Pickups are only as good as you, the individual, perceives them to be. Once you get past cheap stock pickups, anything after that is pretty much a matter of taste.

The classic series is basically Fender mexico's take on a vintage instrument so it has the six screw vintage style trem, 7.25 inch radius finger board and vintage (Read small) frets, the classic player has more modern appointments that set it firmly in the present, bigger frets, flatter fretboard radius and 2 point trem.
Other than the above the base model is basically the same so you will be getting the same quality of wood throughout, my own personal feeling is that a vintage type of strat is a lot less user friendly than a modern one, the more pronounced radius on the fingerboard makes for comfortable chording but you will need get your action right if want to push those bends, a low action will choke out on a vintage radius.
If you are used to more modern feeling guitars then the player will suit you more, the bigger frets, flatter radius make for easy single note stuff and bending and the two point trems are a bit more stable (Though strat trems arent really built for monster dives!).

Whichever one of these you choose then bear in mind they are at the cheaper end of the scale when it comes to hardware, the first thing I would do with any is to replace the pickups, I would always recommend Texas Specials for any strat as they sound amazing and can handle distortion really well, I owned a mexi strat for a few years and its was a good workhorse guitar but my ultimate advice would be to hold out for an american standard, the currst models are superb in terms of quality, tone and features and arent really much more than the ones you are looking at.
