We should totally trade weights! I'm trying to get to 200lbs, but I weight 175!
Totally not helpful, just thought it was a bit interesting. |

First of all, no diet in the world will help if you don't have your mind set to it. Selfmotivation is the hardest part. I tend to focus on leaving a present state rather than setting up goals about this and that that rarely will be fulfilled to precieness anyway.
I did the same as Zion, that's the only thing that works for me. For the reasons that diets are boring and useless imho, should be a diet it should be a changeover for permanent effect. By getting rid of sugar alone I lost 12kg/26lbs in half a year. Sure, it wasn't fast but it was rather easy if the mind is set on it. Means no real sugar in the coffe, no soft drinks at all, no pasteries. And by cutting the sugar you might get a sweet (no pun intended) side effect as you see the weight go and that you feel inspired from your success and you're spured to put vegetabled on your plate, exchange the white bread for wholemeal, eat smaller portions etc. Then I my case I had a struck of bad luck since I became sick and had to eat cortinososis which has a very negative effect on weight (you add body water, get hungry, get hyper, can't sleep) so I gained the 12 kg's back in just 6-8 weeks. That was quite a nasty blow Now I weigh in at 96 kg which is where I started before I got ill, I'm guessing a couple kg's were gained from hard labor all summer (redecorated the garden and added a couple tons of stone) but that would be muscles so I don't want to lose that I stopped the cortisonosis long time ago so there's really nothing that stops me from getting started on the weight loss again, except for just not feeling like it... but... Jeff, you know what, I'm starting today since your post was a reminder to me about something I should have done long ago I'll do it the same way like before, I'm quitting sugar since I know that worked so well for me. I'm aiming for 85 kg, no particular day or time limit, when I'm there I'm there. Havn't had my morning coffe yet, will have it now, skipping the two pieces of sugar and I'll add artificial sweetener instead. Thanks for the reminder and I hope you can get started too -------------------- My bands homepage

I've been running a couple times a week for about a year now... I have only lost about 8kg, but I guess that's because I still eat a lot. Gonna change that now thanks to the tips above ^^
I don't have much weight problems myself. But the first thing I do every morning when I wake up (sometimes even before I open my eyes), is to do 50 push-ups. It gets me in a "healthy mood" for the rest of the day which makes me stay away from the vending machines! Haha, I've started to do that as well Well, not 50.. only 30.. And I have to take them with my knees on the ground, but I'm getting there -------------------- GMC is not just a website... It's a lifestyle!

Diet is one important step. The other is physical activity to turn all the fat into muscles and shape up. There's no need for some rigorous training tho - you should do some walking/running or simple exercises at home at least twice a week.
This will not only help your body to become stronger and thinner, it will also make your brain a lot fresher. Also maintaining this kind of exercises greatly improves your health as well, which I think is the most important thing if you have excess of weight that you wanna reduce. Good luck mate. -------------------- - Ivan's Video Chat Lesson Notes HERE
