Hey guys! I just released my first album under the name of Wyrok, and I'm really excited. It's a real change of direction of music for me, as I've moved to a more electronic style.

Anyway, if you have a moment to spare please go check it out, the first track has Gab doing a crazy solo on it! Thanks so much smile.gif

Hey buddy! Congrats! The music is very relaxing - I listened to the song on which Gabi played the solo last evening and I must say, I liked it biggrin.gif Good luck with promotion and gigging and super congrats for the non-conformism - you don't see frying pans on a record every day!

its very good indeed smile.gif
Theres a brief section in the first track that had a vibe about it like the song 'The Ballad of the Broken Birdie Records' by múm, (one of may favourite songs in this type of style) which I thought was awesome.
The last track as well really kicked off with a dark vibe to it, very nice smile.gif
great stuff duder, you have some really slick melodies going on, I like it.

Thanks Cosmin! I think Gab's solo was just awesome biggrin.gif The experimental side was the main focus of this EP, including frying pans wink.gif

Hehe biggrin.gif Can you tell us a bit about the story behind it? You are one of the creative forces here in the GMC community and I think everyone would be interested in knowing what inspired you to do this album and how did the recording and production processes occur smile.gif What gear did you use and what interesting situations have you encountered?

Thanks Cosmin, I'm honored smile.gif I started to become more open towards my songwriting, and the main feature of the process was that there was no set process at all. What I mean is, I took inspiration from any aspect of life I could, for example the inspiration for Saturday's Reflection was taken while I was wiping dishes and dropped a frying pan.

A lot of electronic music influences are heard on this record, but I didn't want my music to be made with the intention to make it electronic. While I was making the songs, I didn't really care about what 'genre' it would be. As a result, I started producing pieces that were somehow signature of my own combination of influences.

Not too much 'gear' was used, other than my guitar and pedalboard, but even then the amount of guitars featured in my album were fairly small.
I don't have studio monitors at home so I used my studio headphones (Yamaha HPH-Mt220) and used the studio monitors in the music studio of my room to check mixes. I used Presonus Studio One and Ableton Live mainly, sampled a lot of stuff in unorthodox ways (eg. Electronic drum kit through a tube amp).

Howdy Taka! Thanks for the insights, mate! You are a true inspiration in respect to the fact that music should have no borders, boundaries, stylistic differences and all that debatable stuff smile.gif

I am very glad that you realized this and that you managed to make music without having any preconceptions. I usually write about stuff that is a bit more based on emotions rather then the inspiration caused by simple actions such as the one described by you. But I find it very Zen to approach things in your way and I will already thank you for the inspiration on this new approach smile.gif

Who else is working on their original music and has already got a concept behind it? I really hope Taka's works will inspire other GMCrs to talk about their own work and present it to us smile.gif
