This is a great guitar by Jackson with Original Floyd Rose, 24 Jumbo Frets(The only RR model with 24) and an EMG 81 humbucker. It is very minimalistic with just one knob and a single humbucker but you dont need more than that for metal music IMO. I played it and it's great and better than the Alexi series by ESP for the same price.

Cheapo version would be this Explorer type by Epiphone with Floyd(original) and emg 81/85

http://www.guitarcenter.com/Epiphone-Futur...616-i1391961.gc

The Dean Razorbacks or Flying V's are in your price limit. They look metal and have EMG 81/85 pus, but only a licensed floyd which is not the best quality...

There are more options to choose from, you can also check out the Schecter Hellraiser series (all with Floyd and Emg 81/89) or some Esp Ltd models like the Horizon with Emg pickups...

I have never played a guitar with dimarzio pickups so I dont know how they sound. I have only used Seymor Duncan and EMG. I would think they sound simular to the SD pickups. Maybe someone else here at GMC could answer that question better than me. I like the Ibanez though smile.gif
I think my next guitar will be this one http://www.proguitarshop.com/product.php?P...;CategoryID=494

My friend is going to get this one
http://www.guitarcenter.com/Schecter-Hellr...919-i1395768.gc
EMG'S
Floyd Rose
Also the V shape is contoured ALLOVER. its really comfortable to play. The Black color looks really nice in real life and it has abalone binding on the top of the guitar. But id just go through some schecters at your local store.

what amp will you be using?
