Haven't checked it out yet myself. Only heard bad things. Something about not being able to tab out the drums anymore, something with copy/paste too.

Tried the demo now. Few things annoy me, but over all I geuss you'll get used to it. Annoyed that you can't tab drums though.

And furthermore, how do you create a lower and upper tie for the drums?

Was used to be able to tab things this way:

but with GP6 it'll look this way, and be...ahem, incorrect...

How is the regular guitar tabbing? Also, can you import old GP files, and save in new version and open with old?

You can import/load old GP files (except the very oldest (.gpt), but that is coming the documentation says), and you can't yet export to even GP5 which is really really bad for me =/ I have people with GP5 I would like to send things to so I don't know what to do at the moment.
The interface is much nicer now, and the RSE sounds have improved a bit. Easy to tweak.

The regular tabbing is fine, pretty much the same as GP5. Drum tabbing is a bit confusing at first, but after a few bars you get used to it.
Harder to read for me tho.

Anyway, a decent upgrade so far but i'll make up my mind when i've tried it some more.

It's a pitty they didn't managed to make things compatible with previous version in this one. Perhaps it will be possible to save in 5.2 at least or something in some next version.

For those trying to import files from 6 to 5: What about exporting first via midi file and then import the midi file in version 5? I think that should work. But nevertheless they could make it easier.

GP never import Midi files in the right way. There's always something missing or the digitation given is impossible to play

The problem is the fingering isn't saved in the midi file. So you will get the correct notes but the fingering will be way off =( Also some of the palm mute, staccato etc stuff gets messed up.

According to the documentation they are working on it tho, so I would guess in a month or so it will be possible to save to guitarpro 5 atleast.

Technically it's not a hard thing to do, I guess they just want to make sure it works right (or they're just lazy wink.gif

I figured out how to do the drums like I wanted by the way. Easy as scratching yourself in the head.
