f115 Euros tube amp in actions (basic version goes for 80 Euros). Presence on 5, volume only on 3 (camera starts clipping). Sound still really fenderish

that's a nice little amp, i would love to hear to with a proper mic smile.gif!

I'm starting to love this small gem wink.gif I can't really decide from this sound quality mic, but seems to a nice fender like clean sound ideal for blues and clean stuff in general! Price is amazing, hope its made out of good quality components.

Yes souds really nice that little thing. I will make some proper recordings when I have some time. The thing is build very sturdy. I had a Fender champ and the Fame at home and opened them. They look very similar layout wise. THe parts are mostly the same (output transformer, most of the resistors etc.) THey could be build in the same factory and built quality wise the Fame is def. up to par. Sure the fender looks nicer with its two tone tolex. But the basic version of the fame costs excalty half the price.

This seems interesting to me, I need an amp to have at my veranda in the summer, so I ordered one pimped from Musicstore.de , the price is really awesome. Now lets see if the sound is that too.... smile.gif

So you ordered the special version too ? I really like it and think its better than the Fender original. Its a nice veranda amp smile.gif . And if you have a 4 ohm cabinett somewhere just add a speaker output jack. Be carfull though, the big capacitor from the output transformer which holds about 500 Ohms is directly at the back. You will easily touch it when you open the back.

The speaker needs about 10-12 hours to break in. The tone softens a lot after that period. Its made for strats and doesn't like other guitars so much.

Yeps, I ordered the special one, I know bout the issue with strats, I have exactly the same issue with my Tweed Deluxe clone, she won't take any other guitars (except for my Suhr, but its a strat model, so I guess she's approved.... tongue.gif ) I think it's because of the input resistance/impedance, LP's and other HB guitars just sounds like crap.... Thx. for the tip with te speakers! smile.gif

Hmmm, I guess so, if its the single coil version.... I have a quite believable theory that states that the reason for not accepting anything else than single coils, is just because she doesnt want to be involved in a mirage-a-trois here... She's a real classy amp (thats why the "Deluxe" in the name) and no woman with class, like Ms. Pfeiffer or Ms.Diaz would hardly accept input from two men at the same time either..... laugh.gif

Haaaaaaaaaa thats an awesome theory. I believe it certainly. biggrin.gif

Anyway that thing actually has an impendance swith. You can choose low and high. Low works quite well for lower output humbuckers. My hybrid Tele which has some, sounds pretty good like that. My high output EMGs sound like ultra crap though. If you play with the presence you actually get good sounds with a P90 too. First time I used my P90 equiped guitar I was rather dissapointed but now I found some good sounds. But again your cool metal pedal will sound awefull

They're saying in their catalog that it can only be that cheap buying in large amounts an directly from the manufarcturer..

Hmmm, seriously I have the opposite experience with my Deluxe - by using a pedal and setting the gain/distorsion fairly low on the box it sounds good, but without any pedals, all my HB-guitars sounds like crap with the exception of the Ibanez GB10 that gives kinda Wes Montgomery sound.

Thats true. What is most interesting with this company is that most stuff I looked at is cheaper than at Thomann, so from now on I'm gonna check out both. (I also ordered some Beyerdynamics Phones, a Presonus Blue Tubes DP and a pocket metronome, and all items were cheaper than at Thomann)

I was jamming with some friends yesterday night in a really small club. They have an old Deluxe there and I brought the Fame with my really cheap cab that runs with a Jensen Mod 12" 4 Ohm speaker. I plugged a switcher between the two amps so i could switch. Its save to say that the Fame stood its ground (not with the internal speaker though, which is even miked not "roomey" enough for live playing) With the cab hooked up to the Fame we had a lot of fun. It is even loud enough when the drummer doesn't go crazy. In the whole band setup it sounded really like a good 'ol Deluxe (funny). The real Deluxe had a little more sparkle but I think this is also because of the great old alnico speaker wheras my 30 Euro Jensen is a bottom of the line ceramic speaker. Anyway that mini thingy looks funny on stage.

Have fun with it
