I'm pretty new on recording:
File: http://rapidshare.com/files/54509565/Whirl.mp3.html Just recorded it, barely any mixing yet. I play guitar, and did bass, drums & keys on midi. Guitar: Ibanez RG with Dimarzios, NI Guitar Gear 2 Drums: Addictive drums with some modifications on my part. KB: Linplug organ3 Bass: Edirol super quartet Would love to hear your opinions on the song and some mixing suggestions. Thanks in advance!!! This post has been edited by Bali: Oct 8 2007, 04:18 AM |

Pretty much echo Exorcyze. To me the upper mid and high frequency range is a bit congested/busy so I'd reduce the cymble sizzle as well or even take some of them out or apply a gate where they overlap with the lead guitar. With the synth - sounds like quite a nice pad but a bit back in the mix - maybe you could also put in some deep synth bass?
A couple of other things to maybe consider - the second lead guitar type (at 1:55) is a long way back in the mix - I think you want this effect but I think it needs bringing forward a bit. The outro fade out is a bit too pronounced/sharp to me. Nice track overall though. I liked it.
