Anyone familiar with the band Emperor? I picked up "Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk". It's amazing. I asked a buddy about these guys and apparently the guy that formed the band started doing this stuff at 16???? Anyways, just checking if anyone else had given them a listen, what your thoughts are on the guitars and the overall orchestration (which in my opinion is MAGNIFICENT), and if you'd recommend another album.

Uncreator and VinceG, I'm expecting some input here. biggrin.gif

Hello all
Looking for a good drum program (software) to record with...the name EZ Drummer pops up pretty frequently....I'd like it to sound at least relatively realistic, and be versatile enough to do everything from jazz brushes to death metal blast beats....any input/suggestions (besides 'man up, join a band and get a real drummer' biggrin.gif )?

Oh, and I'm using Cakewalk's Sonar Home Studio for PC.

Thanks y'all

I've heard a lot of people citing Petrucci's Rock Discipline DVD as their practice Bible. Has anyone seen it? Any input on whether you found it to be a useful tool?

Hey Uncreator, I noticed on the pic of your Dime V, you've got a Children of Bodom sticker....what do you think of Alexi Laiho? I really like his style, nice mix of shreddy stuff and straight rock style....there's a lot of hype about him though, opinions anyone?

OK, I got into a debate about this with another player at a bar.

It's a hypothetical "which would you rather have" scenario.

You can either have ABSOLUTE PERFECT PITCH - I mean *perfect pitch*, the kind that lets you call out every pitch produced when someone drops a handful of change on the ground, or every note sounded when someone slaps their hands randomly on a keyboard...... (Yes, this does exist)

OR

$1,000,000.00 USD, or your preferred international equivalent.

If you chose perfect pitch - is there a $$$ amount that would change your mind?

Just curious.
