Hi fellow musicians! smile.gif

I'm Stefan Petrović from Belgrade ( Serbia ), 27 years old, been playin guitar for about 12-13 years. I'm strat guy and my main influences are: Jimi Hendrix, SRV, David Gilmour, Jeff Beck, Richie Kotzen, Slash, Tommy Emmanuel, George Benson... just to name few. While I was in high school I was playing in lot of bands, had a lot of gigs and was doing really well. After that I went to faculty, then full-time job and unfortunately I lost my focus on guitar and music. Recently I'm putting effort to make up what I have missed, and to get back on the path. I'm sure that GMC is great place just for that cause I've seen that you have really awsome instructors. I'm looking forward to hang out with you guys and to share expirience and knowlage about our favorite subject.

Sincerely,
Stefan

Hello Stefan!

Welcome to GMC mate! You will get ready to jam in no time! I like a lot of the guitarists you have mentioned and I was curious to know if you have any recordings of yourself smile.gif What sort of gear are you using?

Hi Cosmin,

Thanks for welcome! Here is my gear:

Guitars:
Fender Stratocaster Eric Johnson signature ( sunburst )
Fender Stratocaster Delux
Taylor 110e accoustic

Amp:
Marshal JMP Lead 50w through JCM900 4 x75w (Celestion G127-75) cab

Pedals/Effects:
Dunlop CryBaby, Marshall Shredmaster, Boss DD-3, Korg PitchBlack

Currently I'm saving some money to buy some recording gear, and I can't wait to start recording myself. I belive that recording and watching yourselfe is the best way to make progress. Especially showing it to other guys who can then give you a point on which aspects of your playing you should improve, and also to get you motivated.

In the meantime I can show you some clips of me playing with some bands. In the first I'm the leftmost person (short hair, black shirt, tabacco strat), and yeah for some reason I wasn't very interesting to the camera guy laugh.gif
http://youtu.be/-iXiv-MH-hs

On the second one I'm on the right side with white strat, rockin' with my old band:

Hey mate, nice gear ya have wink.gif I remember using that JMP and liking it a lot a few years ago. The bad thing is (in my opinion) that out of what I know, you need a power amp, so two things to carry around. What sort of power amp do u use?

I think that you are talkin about JMP-1 unit. What I have is JMP Lead ( Like Super Lead, only 50w insted of 100w). It is classic Marshall amp ( power amp included smile.gif ):

Patrik, Gabriel, azureus, Jouve, Slavenko, Gitarero ... again thanks for your comments and welcome!

Today I was tryin to record some video and post it here. I would love to capture sound of my amp, but it's to loud for home recording. Maybe one day I'll buy some powerbreak device, but for now the only choice that I have is an audio interface and a guitar software.

Anyway...
When I finished recording my video material, I ended up with 1GB video clip (I'm recording with Canon EOS camera in HD res.). The thing that had always been mystery to me is: How do you resize large videos to smaller without loosing to much quality? ph34r.gif If anyone would like to help me, please let me know what software you use for that purpose, and what video format, resolution and size do you prefer.
Another issue was mixing audio and video, because windows movie maker doesn't support .MOV files. So again if you can recommend something or give me a advice shoot! smile.gif

ps:

For video editing take Sony Vegas, and I'm gonna explain to you how to compress MOV to WMV or Mp4 and still get a good quality.

That's the only problem with those older amps, you had to crank the hell out of them for them to distort !! No possibility of sneaking in some guitar practise without anybody hearing tongue.gif
