GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ Favorite "new Wave American Metal" Band?

Posted by: Kristofer Dahl Nov 26 2010, 11:04 AM

With today's awesome Lamb Of God Style Lesson by Lale I would like to ask what your favorite "New Wave American Heavy Metal" band is?

I feel that this could be a thread where I discover a new band - so please give it your best shot!

Hey Kris!

I think I could chit chat with you on this one for hours smile.gif)
What's your favourite 'till now?

Posted by: Kristofer Dahl Nov 26 2010, 11:57 AM

Well some people put system of a down in this category - so that's a clear winner for me! Some other bands I have listened a little to are Killswitch and Avanged Sevenfold..!

I enjoy the humor on SOD, and the tasty guitar playing in Ax7 biggrin.gif

Hmmm, do you guys know A perfect circle? It's not necessarily metal but it includes a wide array of mind states and it has a very modern sound biggrin.gif

I like SOAD very much - they represent one of the few bands that make truly original music! and Killswitch biggrin.gif those guys are in my player DAILY tongue.gif

Yeah to me SOAD has everything: originality, humour, strong songs with melodies and heaviness/tightness. Oh wait there are no guitar solos?! ph34r.gif

All that remains are among my favourites as well! smile.gif how about Fightstar? They are a brittish band, but they sound very american biggrin.gif I like them a lot!

Check out the first album, called The grand unification!

Has to be Trivium for me...

Posted by: Karl-ss Nov 26 2010, 04:38 PM

Most of these bands except for say Trivium and Lamb of God bore me really.. I prefer the rising wave of technical death metal in america.
