A jam with Ed Earley, a stalwart member of the Northern Californial blues and rock scene. Ed led Albert King's horn section for over 10 years and is a grand old gentleman of the blues...old?...what am I saying?...he's ten years younger than me! He has his own band, the Ed Earley Band as well as being a featured performer in Elvin Bishop's band.

He just loves to play and when I play in the San Francisco Bay Area I always let him know. If he's not working that night, true to his name, he shows up...you guessed it...early. Notice how he turns and gives the young drummer (who has never played blues before rolleyes.gif ) the correct beat at the beginning of the song. tongue.gif The video was shot near the end of the evening at the Blues Hall of Fame 2012 Awards.

I always strive to keep things simple, especially when accompanying other performers.

Give it up for Malmsteen! biggrin.gif Funniest video! I also believe that there is a time and place for everything so, for certain, less can be more. If anyone would say otherwise, they would automatically deny players such as Gilmore, who put such a tremendous intensity and vibe and melody in just a few notes.
