I have some "stacked" single coils on my Warmoth from Seymour Duncan that does a great job, but a real humbucker will be even greater.... (if You wants a high gain sound) The stacked mics can be splitted, so that they works as single coils in postion 2/4 to get the funky "quack" sound... On my regular strat I use Texas Specials, but there was copies of the 69' mics from Custom Shop on it from the very beginning, and they also sounds very good, not so high output but a very nice clean sound....

Do pickups like the Hot Rails pickups act like real humbuckers ? yes they do, they ARE the humbuckers. The have two singlecoils stacked together and reversed polarity on each for hum canceling. They will never sound the same as the full sized humbuckers tho, but they will be as close as you can get. I suggest checking out the cavity of your Strat, possibly it has cavities for full sized hums. -------------------- - Ivan's Video Chat Lesson Notes HERE

i love the dimarzio chopper for the bridge on strats, it is a humbucker in a single coil skin, but still, sounds thinner and got more attack -i think- than a full size humbucker, can't go wrong with this pickup

Hey Crazy, I didn't get a chance to read all the way through this thread, but what sound are you trying to go for? If you're trying to emulate David Gilmour tone, then you should check out gilmourish.com
More specifically, here's the link to a page where he talks about different pickups for different Gilmour era's. http://www.gilmourish.com/?page_id=35. You have to scroll down a good ways but just do a word find for 'pickups' and you'll get to the good stuff. Hope this helps some. Good luck! -------------------- "That's alright I still got my guitar, look out now!" -Hendrix
